GIRI – A family-owned traditional business brand; formerly known as PERUMAL & CO eminent for the finest quality products – Butter, Ghee and Oils at Kothwal Chavadi, Chennai since 1934.
An independent and founder-controlled company was established by Late Sri Revoor Padmanabha Chetty. In its journey since then the company had many partners contributing to the cautious growth and so did the dedicated partner Late Sri R.V.Ramamurti since 1947. During, the Golden jubilee year 1983, the name was changed to “GIRI & Co” by Sri.R.V.Ramamurti, with the consent of the then active partners. The successful business carried out by him along with his sons and grandsons, though faced various challenges, earned a reputation in the market by not only focusing on the quality but also with the continuous support from our loyal customers, honest dealers and devoted workers.
One of our prime products “GHEE” is manufactured in a very traditional way by melting the meticulously-sourced butter has been a favourite for generations and that has motivated us to transform our family business to a BRAND. The brand “GIRI” a brainchild of Sri R.V.Chakradhari became a reality with the blessings of his Grandfather Late Sri R.V.Ramamurti.

Sri Annapurna Coffee Works once known as “PADMA COFFEE” thriving since 1950’s passionately serves the filter coffee-lovers, with the freshly roasted & finely ground aromatic coffee powder. Proprietor Sri R.V.Ramana (son of Late Sri R.V.Ramamurti) took over the business from Late Sri Revoor Padmanabha Chetty in the early 1970s. To ensure best quality, finest Coffee beans are conscientiously procured from long-established suppliers in South India. Besides the “Pure filter coffee powder”, we provide “Blended filter coffee powder with Chicory” based on customer’s requirement.

A firm started by Sri R.V.Chakradhari (grandson of Late Sri R.V.Ramamurti) to shelf yet another essential product “OLIVE oil” to the already existing product line “Butter, Ghee and Oils”. During this period Olive oil was high priced and a variety for the lower segment was in great demand. The need for ”an affordably priced quality olive oil” was quickly sensed and the same was systematically introduced, after a great amount of research on the required taste and price. The market demand was closely monitored and the focus gradually moved from imports to procuring quality products for private labelling.
